Chris Evans

Chris Evans has been providing custom artwork to Champaign-Urbana residents for 25 years.  He is best known for his local landscapes featuring the historic architectural features of the University of Illinois campus and local nightlife. His three commissioned murals with Jaime Kruidenier enliven the Stratton Elementary School in Champaign.  "The Community Garden" welcomes guests at the front door with fantastical images of school grounds and the surrounding neighborhood inspired by student suggestions.  His basketball mural outside the gym is well worn by students "high fiving" Michael Jordan. And "Storybook," in the Stratton Library, allows students to sit with life sized book characters while they learn to read.

Chris produced a popular rendition of the Urbana Free Library facade that was used for a decade by the library for promotions and can be purchased at the Old Vic Art Gallery in card form. In addition, Chris designed "Four Seasons of Urbana" delighting visitors to Lincoln Square Mall with color rich street scapes of historic Urbana.

Chris is particularly adept at landscapes and architectural images and is available to turn your home, business, or favorite place into a custom piece of artwork at reasonable costs.  He also provides portraits and public or private murals.
